Welcome

Each of us have a natural desire for lasting peace and happiness, yet very few of us can say that we have actually achieved it. The best we are able to experience is only temporary pleasure and happiness. Again and again, our happiness is interrupted or destroyed by problems and suffering. Buddha found this situation intolerable. After attaining enlightenment in Bodh Gaya India, 2500 years ago, he vowed to end the suffering of all living beings. Teaching from his own personal experience, he spent the next 40 years of his life showing others how to gain permanent freedom from all suffering and enjoy everlasting peace and happiness.

London Buddhist Centre offers a variety of programs that reveal this unique path to happiness. The Centre is one of a family of meditation centers that span the globe, and is a member of the New Kadampa Tradition, International Kadampa Buddhist Union. The NKT-IKBU is dedicated to maintaining the pure and priceless Buddhadharma that has benefited millions of people in the last two millennia.
